Some Of The Issues Faced By Tenants

Disabled & Mobility Challenges
Recent construction at 644 Sheppard meant that the front entrance and walkways were CLOSED to all. The disabled and those with mobility issues complained to us about shoddy ramps and dangerous pathways cut through fences, onto areas full of mud. Property management had nothing to say when confronted by angry tenants.

Health and Safety
The property has an on-site Health & Safety inspector. However they are nowhere to be found in situations like these. Railings and ramps so shoddy they needed YELLOW CAUTION TAPE. Would you want a loved one with disability issues using this?

Is This Safe
The rear entrance/exit to 642 Sheppard was used to avoid the construction area at the front of the building. All tenants had to exit the rear doors. There were no provisions made for the disabled to ensure they could get the door open by means of automatic open doors. Instead they had to push open heavy fire doors. Walk over to this ramp which is very steep and not within code, slippery and full of debris that was just thrown into the bin and allowed to stay until picked up by people other than the Health and Safety inspector. It was also noted that the ramps were not even equipped with non slip surfaces as required by code.
